This is a follow up to a previous request dated July 30 ¶2009. On August 5, 2009, a delegation from the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) team, as well as a representative from the Bureau of International Organization Affairs, will meet with representatives from the United States Mission to the United Nations and various offices of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations, including the Office of Military Affairs, the Integrated Training Service, and Force Generation Services. The visit constitutes the GPOI Team's annual visit to United Nations headquarters, and will include a series of updates from UN staff on UN peacekeeping operations and a set of briefings on the impending launch of Phase II of GPOI (2010-2014). ¶2. Department requests USUN assistance in obtaining the required UN badges to allow access to 801 UN Plaza and 380 Madison Ave. ¶3.
