SUBJECT: ECOSOC INSTRUCTIONS - REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON
NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS
1. U.S. Delegation is instructed to submit alternate
resolutions (para 4 and 5) regarding the NGOs Democracy
Coalition Project, Inc. (DCP) and Dynamic Christian World
Mission Foundation, U.S.A.(DCWMF) under agenda item 12.
2. If a vote is called to grant the NGO Associacao
Brasileira de Gays, Lesbicas, y Transgeneros consultative
status, the U.S. Delegation is instructed to vote yes.
3. U.S. Delegation is requested to make a statement, as
appropriate, based on the points provided via separate email
from the Department to Brian Young.
4.DCP RESOLUTION: The Economic and Social Council decides to
grant special consultative status to the Democracy Coalition
Project, Inc.
5. DCWFM RESOLUTION: The Economic and Social Council, mindful
of the decision of the Committee on Non-Governmental
Organizations to close its
consideration of the application for consultative status
submitted by the Dynamic Christian World Mission
Foundation, U.S.A., decides to return the application to the
Committee to be reopened and reconsidered.
ECOSOC reminds the Committee that in its deliberations, it
shall apply only the criteria outlined in resolution 1996/31.
Its deliberations shall be conducted in an impartial and
objective manner, ensuring that the nature and amount of
information requested from non-governmental organizations are
within the applicable requirements.
