1. Department appreciates that USUN joined France and the UK
in informing the UN Security Council Committee established
pursuant to resolution 751 (1992) concerning Somalia that the
advance arms embargo exemption request from the Islamic
Republic of Iran was inconsistent with the letter and spirit
of the provisions imposed on Iran in paragraph 5 of UNSC
resolution 1747 (2007).
