I want to commend you and your staff at Embassy Lima
for your exceptional work on implementation of the
U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA). Your
economic team played an important role in facilitating
negotiations between the Office of the U.S. Trade
Representative and the Government of Peru to complete
the legislative and regulatory measures necessary for
its implementation. The PTPA is key to improving our
competitiveness, reducing poverty, and strengthening
stability in Peru. I look forward to its entry-into-
