1. This is an Action Request. See paragraphs 2 - 4.


2. The Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls
Compliance (PM/DTCC) requests Post's assistance in conducting
a post-shipment check on license 050089992 for the export of
firearms to Thailand. Post is requested to complete this Blue
Lantern check within 45 days. Lack of response to a Blue
Lantern check will affect pending and future licenses
involving parties to this license.


3. Reason for Request: This license if for two hundred (200)
.45 caliber pistols. This request is to establish the bona
fides of this transaction and confirm that the items listed
below have been received by the Royal Thai Police. Foreign
consignee, P. Wang Burapa Firearms, has never been subject to
a Blue Lantern check.


4. Action Request: Post is requested to establish the bona
fides of this transaction by making appropriate inquiries to
representatives of foreign consignee, P. Wang Burapa
Firearms, and officials of the Government of Thailand. Post
is requested to verify that all the firearms listed below
were received by the Royal Thai Police and that they are
being used in accordance with the stated end-use. In its
reply, Post may also comment on any other information
pertinent to these transactions such as security of
facilities and concerns about the entities involved.
