1. (SBU) In response to reftel A Leahy vetting request, the
Department has reviewed its files and finds it possesses no
credible information of gross violations of human rights at
this time by the Jordanian officials listed below. Please
note that if at any time the Embassy becomes aware of
information regarding incidents which could be deemed to be
credible information of a gross violation of human rights by
these individuals, the Embassy should so inform the
Department.
2. (SBU) The following Jordanian officials listed in reftels
are scheduled to participate in a U.S. Coast Guard-sponsored
Port Physical Security/ Port Vulnerability course in Jordan,
scheduled to begin April 12, 2009. The names of the
candidates follow in "title or rank, name, city of birth (in
Jordan),date of birth" format:
1) Assistant Head of Al Durra Area Customs Center, Ahmad
Galban Darweesh AlMusai'din, Bsaira, 04/04/1974
2) Assistant Head of Customs (Ships and Vessels),Jamal Ahmad
Mahmoud Alma'aitah, Al Karak, 10/14/1973
3) Customs Officer, Mahmoud Suleiman Yousef Hayajneh, Irbid,
03/17/1976
4) Captain, Ibrahim Noayran A. Al-Shoufeyeen, Al Mashqar,
1976 (year of birth available only)
5) Captain, Khaled Salti (Odallah) Alsawalqa, Al Tafila,

6) Captain, Sufyan S. H. Shaqarin, Ma'an, 09/11/1976
3. (U) Post is permitted to provide the following statement
to authorized parties: Embassy verifies that the Department
of State possesses no credible information of gross
violations of human rights by the individuals identified in
paragraph 2 above, as of this date. Post may cite this cable
in response.
