(U) This cable responds to the action request in reftel requesting human rights vetting for the candidates nominated to attend the IMET Command General Staff College course. ¶2. (U) The Department of State has vetted the individuals listed in reftel and possesses no credible derogatory information as of 12/09/2009. Post is authorized to include the following individuals in USG-funded training: (1) NAME: Peter Dopudj D/POB: 03/26/1972, Zadar, Croatia GENDER: Male TITLE: Major, Staff Officer in the Department for Training and Doctrine J-7, General Staff ORANIZATION: Serbian Armed Forces NATIONALITY: Serbian (2) NAME: Ivan Orbovic D/POB: 09/02/1973, Belgrade, Serbia GENDER: Male TITLE: Major, staff Officer in the Inernational Military CoopQection, Office of the Chief of the General Staff ORANIZATION: Serbian Armed Forces NATIONALITY: Serbian ¶3. (U) Post is permitted to provide the following statement to authorized parties: Embassy verifies that the Department of State possesses no credible information of gross violations of human rights by the individuals identified above, as of 12/09/2009. (U) Note that if Post subsequently becomes aware of possible human rights violations by the individuals listed above, Post should inform the Department and not proceed with training.
