Effective November 22, 2009, unless otherwise noted, allowances and/or post differential rates are revised as shown. These changes are issued under TL:SR-721. ¶2. Please inform local offices of all U.S. government agencies at the posts listed in this cable. ¶3. Important: Read this entire message as posts may be listed more than once. Changes are listed by allowance or differential rather than by post. ¶4. Taiwan has been included, when applicable, under arrangement with the American Institute in Taiwan. ¶5. The Post (Hardship) Differential changes for Matamoros, and Reynosa, Mexico, are based on a Post (Hardship) Differential Questionnaire submitted by Matamoros. The Post (Hardship) Differential change for Mazatlan, Mexico is based on a Differential Questionnaire submitted by Mazatlan. ¶6. The Living Quarters Allowance changes for Australia and Korea are based on updated living quarters expenditure data submitted by Melbourne and the Department of the Air Force, respectively. ¶7. All Post Allowance changes are based on currency exchange rate information reported to the Office of Allowances as of the first Thursday of Pay Period 23 (November 12, 2009). ¶8. The Education "At-Post" Allowance rate changes are based on updated information provided by posts for the current school year. ¶9. Effective November 22, 2009, with TL:SR 721, Section 260 of the Department of State Standardized Regulations (DSSR) is amended. The amendment adds a provision regarding involuntary SMA to DSSR 264 for circumstances in which a host country government has a policy or practice that, in the determination of the head of agency, prevents a spouse or domestic partner from joining the employee at post. ¶12.
