1. E/EEB extends kudos to Embassy Colombo's economic team for
its consistently high quality and relevant reporting. With
over 30 economic cables in the past three months, Colombo's
small economic team is one of the best and most prolific in
the region. EEB appreciates the analytical and informative
cables on the macroeconomic status, monetary and fiscal
policy, assistance requests, International Monetary Fund
programs, tourism, labor, generalized system of preferences,
and other trade and commercial issues of both Sri Lanka and
Maldives.
2. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and
EEB/TPP/BTA wish to thank Embassy Colombo for its essential
role in the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement meetings
in Colombo and Male in October. Without the Embassy's
support, neither event would have been possible.
3. Keep up the great work.
