NOVEMBER 2009
1. The Government of Trinidad and Tobago will host the Commonwealth
Heads of Government Meeting in November 2009. The meeting itself is
November 27-29, but the run-up to the gathering, including related
events, will begin several weeks earlier.
2. Hotel accommodations in Port of Spain, Trinidad will be scarce
in November and rates will likely be well above normal per diem
lodging costs. The Embassy cannot guarantee cost or availability
during the stated period.
3. Official visitors and TDY travelers should be advised that hotel
rooms in Port of Spain will be booked to capacity; requests for
Post's assistance in obtaining reservation for that period will be
virtually impossible to honor.
4. Travelers are requested to defer travel to Port of Spain until
after November 2009.
5. All non-essential travel to Trinidad and Tobago is discouraged
during this period.
