1. (C) In response to reftel points, the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs International Organisations Directorate informed
PolOff April 3 that Singapore will support the United States
in its candidacy for membership of the Human Rights Council.
Samuel Myat San of the United Nations and Legal Issues Branch
said he believed that Singapore's embassy in Washington had
already informed the Department directly of Singapore's
commitment.
