(C) POLOFF delivered information contained reftel regarding
possible loss of access to Manas Air Base to MFA Middle East,
North Africa and Central Asia Assistant Director Stephen Lim
on March 20. Lim thanked us for the information and noted
that he had received a similar briefing from the U.S.
Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan during Lim's visit to the country
earlier this month. Noting Singapore's planned deployment of
a KC-135 and two UAV's to Manas for operations in
Afghanistan, Lim said Singapore looked forward to hearing
further updates on the situation.
