1. This is an action request. See para 3.
2. POLOFF on April 21 with Anna Luwerna (Deputy Head of
Mission - The Netherlands) and Dmitry V. Darchenkov (First
Secretary - Russia) delivered reftel to Lee Jangkeun,
Director of the Disarmament & Nonproliferation Division. Lee
said that the ROK will attend the GICNT 2009 Plenary Meeting
at The Hague on June 16-17. The ROK delegation, which Lee
will lead, tentatively will include Park Eun-Jin (Disarmament
& Nonproliferation Division) and Kwak Sung-Woo (Korea
Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control). The ROK
consented to giving a 10-15 minute presentation at the 2009
GICNT Plenary Meeting (June 16, afternoon) on the Exercise
Program, and will draw on its role as host to the April 2009
Exercise Planning Group. Lee also said that he will propose
that Kwak give a presentation on the "Development of Mobile
Radiation Detection System Against Nuclear Terrorism in
Korea" as part of the Equipment/Technology Working Group on
the second day of the event.
3. Action Request: The ROKG would like to know who will
lead the U.S. delegation and the prospective USG participants.
