¶1. (U) This is an action request. See para 3.
¶2. (C) Poloff on March 25 delivered reftel demarche to
Hyon-du Kim of the ROK-U.S. Security Cooperation Division
within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT).
Kim said the following:
-- The ROKG would like to hold the consultation as soon as
possible, but can accommodate either June dates (June 11 or
June 25).
-- The ROKG should be able to provide the updated
information on the technical parameters of the Haeseong II
UAV system in advance of the discussions.
-- Lee Baek Soon, Deputy Director General, North American
Affairs Bureau (MOFAT) will lead the ROK delegation for the
consultation.
¶3. (U) The ROKG requested that the Department communicate
to the ROK Embassy in Washington which date it would prefer.
