1. (S) POL M/C delivered reftel demarche on September 30 to
Shin Dong-ik, Director-General of MOFAT's International
Organizations Bureau, informing the ROKG of Iran,s covert
uranium enrichment facility in Qom and updating them on the
October 7 meeting of Like-minded States on Iran to be held in
Washington, DC.
2. (S) DG Shin stated that &time is running out for Iran and
North Korea8 and that the ROKG was in full support of
Iran,s compliance with the IAEA. He indicated that he,
along with a 1-2 person delegation, would most likely attend
the October 7 meeting, although the distance and travel for
Seoul-based officials would be difficult. Shin,s office
agreed to forward a confirmed list of ROKG participants early
next week.
