1. (U) This is an action request. Post requests guidance on
the questions below received from ROKG.
2. (U) On Agust 25, per reftel, PolOff informed Kim Yo-sup,
International Security Affairs Division of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT),of USG views regarding
participation in the Contact Group for Piracy off the Coast
of Somalia (CGPCS). Kim asked what will happen if the chairs
of the other working groups do not agree with the USG's view
of including all UN states as participants with the exception
of Iran and North Korea?
3. (U) Kim also asked whether this policy will be rased as
an official proposal at the next plenary meeting.
4. (U) Finally, Kim stated that he and Lee Joon-kyu, the
Overseas Ambassador for International Counterterrorism
Cooperation, will attend the fourth plenary meeting of the
CGPCS on September 10.
