1. (U) Post has received Diplomatic Note 7748 from the GoDR
notifying that Aerolinea Air Dominicana, S.A. has been
designated by the Civil Aviation Board to provide regular,
commercial, and charter air transport service between the
Dominican Republic and the United States. This note appears
to follow up on the designation of this company for charter
and freight service, notified to Post in October 2008
(Reftel). Translation of the Diplomatic Note follows in Para
2. Post will send a copy of the original Diplomatic Note by
email to EEB/TRA and the Department of Transportation.
2. (U) The Secretary of State of Foreign Relations greets
the Embassy of the United States of AMERICA and informs it
that the Government of the Dominican Republic, through
Resolution Number 52 of the Civil Aviation Board, has
designated Aerolinea Air Dominicana, S.A., as an airline to
provide commercial, regular and charter air transportation
service between the Dominican Republic and the United States
of America, in accordance with Article 2 of the Air
Transportation Accord subscribed between the two countries on
July 19, 1949. (protocol closing)
