2. In his visit to Iquique, U.S. Ambassador to Chile Paul
Simons placed a courtesy call on Acting Mayor Maria Angelica Vega.
At the meeting they addressed a number of bilateral issues
including cultural exchanges and sharing the U.S. experience on
renewable energies. In a speech at Universidad Arturo Prat,
Ambassador Simons underscored the importance of developing
innovative and clean energy alternatives for the advancement of the

U.S. Ambassador Paul Simons pointed out the close U.S.-Chile
bilateral relations. In his speech he addressed a host of

innovation and noted that this will make the country a more
