Econoff delivered reftel demarche and diplomatic note on USG
candidacy for the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council
to Ricardo Flores, Director of Economic Affairs at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, on November 16. Flores said the GOES has not yet
formed a position on the election and will advise us of their
stance after internal consultations. Flores stated the GOES
recognizes and is appreciative of past USG contributions in the
IMO.
