Post informed its civil society partners in the field of
human rights and the Ministry of Human Rights of the upcoming
U.N. Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights (UPR) slated
for May 2009 (reftel). Details on the process, a reference to
the UPR Web site and a proposal for joint events to discuss
the UPR process and the situation of human rights in Yemen
were included in the letter delivered to contacts on January
¶7. Post will report any significant responses from human
rights partners as they are received.
