1. Mission Italy consists of Embassy Rome and Consulates General in
Milan, Naples and Florence. Embassy Rome Coordinator is Visa Chief
Donald Frerichs; the Milan Coordinator is Consul William Gill.
Naples Visas Viper Coordinator is Vice Consul Daniela DiPierro and
the Coordinator for Florence is Consul John Larrea.
2. John Larrea chaired Florence's Visas Viper meeting in Florence
on November 23. All participants were from the Department of State.
No new names were submitted through Viper telegrams and the
participants did not have any questions about the Visas Viper
program.
3. Consul General Carol Perez chaired Milan's Visas Viper meeting
on December 1. Representatives from CONS, EXEC, PAO, POL/ECON, RSO,
MGMT, POL/MIL, LEGATT, FCS, CLO, DETCMDR, IPC and DEA were present.
The meeting did not result in any new nominations or questions about
the program for the Department.
4. Consul General Patrick Truhn chaired a Visas Viper meeting for
Consulate General Naples on 25 November. Only State Department
representatives were present. No VIPER telegrams were submitted and
there were not any outstanding questions about the program.
5. Deputy Chief of Mission Elizabeth Dibble chaired Embassy Rome's
Visas Viper meeting on December 2. Representatives included CONS,
POL, ECON, RSO, LEGATT, DEA, other agencies, and the Front Office.
No new names were submitted and there were not any comments
or questions concerning the program's policies or procedures.
