(S) Responding to reftel points, MFA Security Affairs
Director Kaspars Ozolins stated that the Government of Latvia
agrees completely with the U.S. position on granting
Montenegro entry into MAP. The GOL is also in accord with
U.S. positions on Bosnian, Macedonian, Georgian and Ukrainian
NATO membership. In any NATO ministerial statement on
Montenegrin entry into MAP, Latvia would want to see language
included reflecting the fact that multiple paths exist for
entry into NATO.
