¶1. (C) Latvia agrees with the USG position that Iran has
not done enough to respond to the P5 1's offer of
negotiations regarding its nuclear program. Pol/Econ Off
delivered reftel demarche to Raimonds Oskalns, Head of the
MFA's Arms Control and Non-Proliferation Division, and Judite
Dobele, Head of the MFA's Asia, Africa, and Oceania
Department. Ms. Dobele said that the EU will have a united
position regarding Iran and that Latvia will follow this
position. She also noted that the USG position would be
strengthened if there were progress in the Middle East peace
process in the near future.
