On August 17, Acting Pol/Econ Chief delivered reftel demarche to Judite Dobele, Head of the Middle East Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dobele said she would brief other interested divisions of the MFA on the U.S. position and proposal. Dobele added that Latvia is supportive of a productive IAEA General Conference, but that the MFA could not confirm whether or not Latvia will be sending any delegation to the meeting in light of ongoing budget problems.
