the MFA's Head of the African and Middle Eastern Affairs
department. Dobele stated that Foreign Minister Maris
Riekstins plans to attend the Sharm Al-Sheikh conference in
conjunction with a bilateral visit with Egypt. Because of
Latvia's current economic situation she said they will not be
able to make a monetary pledge. Dobele hinted that there
was, however, the possibility of a small humanitarian project
here in Latvia, and she committed to giving us more details
at a later date.
