1. (SBU) EconOff delivered names of interest (reftel) to the
Deputy President of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)
Abdelhamid Afi on November 13. Afi reiterated the
seriousness with which Morocco treats questions about
terrorism finance, and undertook to share the names with the
President of the FIU and the Central Bank. The FIU will
follow-up with the Central Bank for further input, he added,
and will share with the Embassy any relevant information that
they may be able to develop.
2. (SBU) Regarding reftel para 13, Post will report any
reaction from Moroccan authorities concerning the possible
de-listing of Abdelghani Mzoudi if and when received.
