Affairs Director General Lourdes Puma on June 15 and saw her
in person on June 16. Puma said that it is not the GOE's
policy to issue national statements on any UN bodies'
activities or rulings. The GOE is part of the IAEA's
executive board and the GOE's position will be conveyed
through the Ecuadorian ambassador on the board. She also
said that the GOE had not received any statements or proposed
statements from the Group of Latin America and the Caribbean
but they will be open to a statement if anything is sent to
the GOE.
