3. (SBU) SITE ASSESSMENTS AND MEETINGS DURING REPORTING PERIOD

A). August 5, 2009 - EXBS Advisor Milam and Program Assistant met
with Major General Behar Selimi, Assistant to the Commissioner for
Border Police, to discuss the upcoming Green Border Tracking course
in Kosovo. EXBS Advisor and Selimi discussed the need for passport
scanners at all thirteen 24-hour entry ports in Kosovo. Selimi
stated that the Kosovo's Border Police want to detect and apprehend
any persons on an international watch list attempting to enter or
transit through Kosovo.

B) August 19, 2009 - EXBS Advisor conducted a site visit at the Gate
#6 Border Crossing Point (BCP) between Kosovo and Tetevo, Macedonia.
Mr. Nebih Aliu, Commander of the Border Police Eastern region,
welcomed and thanked the EXBS program for its continuous support
with training and equipment for Border Police. Advisor and Aliu
discussed the transit traffic in the region and the upcoming U.S.
Border Patrol Composite training to be held September 28 - October
3, 2009.

C) August 21, 2009 - EXBS Advisor and Program assistant conducted a
site visit of Gate #4 BCP between Kosovo and Serbia. Mr. Zymer
Kameri, Adminstration Officer and Head of the Customs Unit, welcomed
the EXBS program. Kameri spoke about Kosovo's integrated border
management program and was briefed on upcoming training programs
with EXBS in Kosovo.

4. (U) Equipment usage report:

A) August 24, 2009 - Vermica Border Crossing Point. Kosovo Customs
Anti-Smuggling team discovered 3,150 rounds of ammunition hidden in
a vehicle crossing from Albania to Kosovo. The ammunition was
discovered while using a fiber scope donated by EXBS.
