Embassy Port of Spain has received Diplomatic Note Number 373, dated February 19, 2009, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Trinidad and Tobago. Text follows: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and has the honour to refer to the Fifth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Americas to be held in Port of Spain from April 17 to 19, 2009. The Ministry has the further honour to request the assistance of the Embassy in transmitting the enclosed correspondence from the Honourable Hazel Manning, wife of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, the Honourable Patrick Manning to Her Excellency Michelle Obama. A copy of the letter is attached for the records of the Embassy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of America the assurances of its highest consideration. ¶2. The letter dated February 11, 2009 follows: Your Excellency, The Fifth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Americas will be hosted by the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago from April 17 to 19, 2009. I look forward therefore, to receiving you and all the other spouses in Port of Spain for the Fifth Summit. It is also my pleasure to inform you that a programme of activities has been developed for the spouses and the details are included in the Provisional Programme which I have attached for your perusal. In keeping with the above-mentioned provisional programme, I would indeed by honoured if you could join me and the other spouses for an informal exchanged on the theme "Promoting Environmental Sustainability as a catalyst for Poverty Reduction." I wish also to extend an invitation to you to share with us a DVD presentation on your country's programmes and activities on the above-mentioned theme. I would be pleased to receive your submission ahead of the Summit and would wish to do a compilation of the presentations received from all of our colleague spouses to share among ourselves when we meet in Port of Spain.
