Embassy Port of Spain has received Diplomatic Note Number 264, dated February 3, 2009, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Trinidad and Tobago: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and has the honour to refer to the Fifth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Americas to be held in Port of Spain from April 17 to 19, 2009. The Ministry has the further honour to request the assistance of the Embassy in transmitting the enclosed correspondence from the Honourable Patrick Manning, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to His Excellency Barack Obama, President of United States of America. A copy of the letter is attached for the records of the Embassy. I am pleased to cordially extend to you an invitation to participate in the Fifth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Americas which will be hosted by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago over the period April 17-19, 2009 in our capital city, Port of Spain. As Your Excellency is aware, the theme that has been selected for the Fifth Summit is "Securing Our Citizens' Future by Promoting Human Prosperity, Energy Security and Environmental Sustainability."
