1. (SBU) Foreign Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon told the Charge May 5
that the GOTT viewed the CBSI initiative, and upcoming technical
meeting, very positively. She promised to follow up on the
initiative inside the GOTT.
2. (SBU) National Security Ministry International Affairs Director
Antoinette Lucas-Andrews informed PolOff May 5 that the CARICOM
Secretariat had sent a diplomatic note on May 4 to the USG (via our
Embassy in Georgetown) formalizing the May 20 meeting offer.
Lucas-Andrews continued that the GOTT delegation likely would be led
by National Security Ministry Permanent Secretary Jennifer
Boucaud-Blake and include appropriate technical advisors. The
Ministry will hold internal consultations on the proposed agenda
topics to prepare for the meeting.
3. (SBU) PolOff also discussed the agenda with CARICOM IMPACS
Executive Assistant Lisa Welch. Welch indicated she would forward
the information to Executive Director Lynn Ann Williams.
