SECSTATE 122639 ¶B. SECSTATE 109397 (SBU) On December 2, Poloff delivered reftel points to delivered reftel points to Ambassador Patrice Cure, Head of Multilateral Directorate - Political, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Per ref A action request, Poloff thanked Cure for Mauritius' change of position from supporting to abstaining regarding the resolution. Poloff also noted that Cure had previously said that the change had been influenced by U.S. arguments. Cure agreed that this was true, but stated again it would be difficult to move to full opposition of the resolution given the domestic political situation in Mauritius. Cure said, however, that he would welcome more information about the resolution, our position, and concerns that he could review and forward to his colleagues in New York and in Geneva accordingly. Post provided the non-paper from the IO-Human Rights intranet website (in ref A) to Cure. WALKLEY
