Cure stated that he did not view Iran as a nuclear threat. Iran has the right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, he said, and in his view the current situation is more "political posturing" than anything else. When the CDA asked if he thought Iran should be able to act with no repurcussions, Cure responded that Mauritius would support a process of negotiation through the IAEA. In regards to applying pressure on Iran, Cure said Mauritius does not want to link human rights and the nuclear issue, and will engage separately on the two. BLASER
