On June 19, POLOFF delivered reftel points to Mrs. Marie Angele
Thomas, Second Secretary and U.S. Desk Officer at the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. Thomas unofficially stated that GOS favors
democratic elections and does not support any military intervention
to reinstate Marc Ravalomanana. Thomas was not sure whether the GOS
would be represented at the June 20 SADC Extraordinary Summit
meeting.
