Per Reftel, On April 14 Econoff went to the Ministry of
Economics and Finance and met with International Monetary
Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) Deputy Governor, Sylvain
Lafalaise to urge Haiti's formal and timely response to
Kosovo's application for IMF and WB membership. Lafalaise
told Econoff that he would discuss the matter with the
Governor, Daniel Dorsainvil upon his return to the country on
April 17. Lafalaise assured Conoff that Haiti would submit a
vote by the May 5 deadline.
