Dear Ambassador Sanderson:
I would like to thank you and your team for the excellent
support during my recent visit to Port-au-Prince. It was
a busy time for you, immediately following the Haiti
Donors Conference and prior to elections, and I am
grateful for your efforts.
My program helped to underscore the important role of the
United States in supporting development and helping to
sustain stable democracies in the region. I especially
enjoyed our visit to the garment factory. It highlighted
the role of the HOPE Act in creating jobs and fostering
economic development in Haiti.
Please convey my thanks to your entire team for their
outstanding support and for the important work they do on
a daily basis to advance our partnership with Haiti.
