(C) France will search its own holdings for information in
response to reftel, Jeanne Simon (MFA IO Sanctions desk
officer) said on August 6. She cautioned, however, that she
was not certain that pertinent information existed, and
mentioned that it was possible that any such information that
did exist had already been passed to the USG during earlier
GOF-USG information exchanges. Simon said she would keep us
informed of the GOF's search results, noting that a thorough
search could require a fair amount of time.
