RESOLUTIONS IN UNGA THIRD COMMITTEE
REF: STATE 108921
1. (U) The Director of the Office of International
Organizations and Conferences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
informed Post on November 2nd that she had passed a decision memo
to the Foreign Minister recommending that Panama oppose "no-action"
motions and support country-specific resolutions in consonance with
U.S. priorities (reftel). Based on Panama's historical voting
record and the human rights situation in the specific countries,
she was certain the Foreign Minister would approve the
recommendation.
2. (U) The Director said that Panama did not yet have enough
information to take a position on the subject of defamation of
religions.
