1. (C) Poloff met October 28 with Per Selvaag, acting head of
the the UN section at Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Selvaag had checked with Norway's UN delegation and they
reported that Norway had promised to support one of the three
other candidates, but supporting Ms. Myers candidacy for
continued membership in the UN's International Civil Service
Commission (ICSC) "should be no problem." Thus, Norway
committed to support Ms. Myers.
