1. (SBU) On October 30, POLOFF delivered Ref A points and a
detailed curriculum vitae of the U.S. candidate to the
International Civil Service Commission to Penelope
Erotokritou, Counselor in the MFA's Department of
Multilateral Affairs and International Organizations.
2. (SBU) Erotokritou said she had no information on how
Cyprus would vote, the same position the MFA took in June
2009 per Ref B. (Note: One of the other ICSC candidates,
Spyridon Flogaitis, is from Greece, a close ally of Cyprus.
End note.) Erotokritou, however, said that Cyprus holds a
positive view of Myers and would examine the U.S. candidate
closely. Erotokritou also said Cyprus shares the U.S.'s
desire for greater female representation on the ICSC.
