1. (SBU) On August 31, POLOFF delivered reftel non-papers to
Counselor Panayiotis Papadopoulos in the Cyprus MFA's
Department of Multilateral Affairs. Papadopoulos stated that
he would share reftel non-papers with the Ministry of
Commerce, Industry and Tourism, which will be participating
on behalf of the GOC at the upcoming Australia Group Plenary,
and would inform POLOFF of any feedback received. On
September 10, POLOFF contacted Papadopoulos to follow-up;
Papadopoulos stated that the Ministry of Commerce, Tourism
and Industry had welcomed the reftel non-papers, but had not
provided the MFA with feedback to share. Papadopoulos
reiterated Cyprus' eagerness to participate in the upcoming
plenary. Post will inform of any further developments.
