(SBU) Post on June 1 delivered talking points and a detailed
curriculum vitae on the U.S. candidate for the International
Civil Service Commission (ICSC, Reftel) to Antonis Toumazis,
the Cypriot Foreign Ministry's Mulilateral Affairs Division
director. In a follow-up telcon with PolChief on June 2,
Toumazis promised to give the U.S. candidacy full
consideration. With the actual vote at UNGA not to take
place until October or November, he doubted that Cyprus would
finalize its decision on whom to support until early fall,
with Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou himself making the
choice.
