SUBJECT: NIGER VOTES "YES" ON KOSOVO IMF/IBRD MEMBERSHIP

1. Minister of the Economy and Finance Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine,
Niger's Governor to the IMF and World Bank, advised post on May 5
that the Government of Niger had cast an affirmative vote for the
Republic of Kosovo to accede to both organizations.
2. Minister Zeine, who had been away from Niamey, returned to the
capital on May 4 following travel to Washington for the annual
spring IMF and World Bank meetings and to Agadez for GON functions
held on May 3 and 4. DCM had delivered subject demarche to the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation on April 14.
