On April 14, CDA delivered subject demarche to MFA Director of the
Americas, Asia, and Oceania Sani Nana Aicha Andia, who welcomed U.S.
support for the African Union (AU) position on Madagascar. Sani
stated that the AU decision was a "courageous act" that would deter
other similar attempts in Africa. Sani added that the GON "would
like to see a quick return to constitutional order in Madagascar."
