1. Hotel rooms in and around Niamey, Niger will be in short supply
from February 3 - 15, 2009 due to the CEN-SAD (Communaute Economique
des Etats Sahelo-Saheliens) Games, which will be held from February
4 - 14, 2009. Post advises travelers to ensure that they have
confirmed hotel reservations prior to arrival in Niamey during this
period. Travelers are requested to delay non-essential travel until
after mid-February if possible.
2. Official travelers planning to conduct work in Niamey during
this time period must contact post well in advance to request
assistance in reserving hotel accommodations.
