1.(SBU) Poloff delivered reftel Diplomatic Note and copy of
the United States Human Rights Commitments and Pledges to
MEA/Protocol on April 17. Poloff also faxed and emailed the
demarche to MEA/Americas Division Director Randhir Jaisawal
the same day. On April 20, 2009 MEA/UN Joint Secretary
Dinesh Patnaik told Poloff that the Government of India would
support the candidacy of the United States to the UN Human
Rights Council.
