Obama's Cairo remarks is certainly different since he
wants to dissociate himself from his predecessor. He
does not offer an immediate solution to any problem but
his objective is to show respect to the Arab and Muslim
world. The beginning was great. What next?"
¶2. "START OF A NEW DIALOGUE," opinion piece in June 11
centrist Marathi daily, SAKAL: "For the first time an
American President of African origin has spoken about
Muslims. In the last few years, due to strained
relations, America was getting disconnected from
Muslims. Obama has taken a step forward to build
contact between them."
¶3. "OBAMA SPEECH INDICATIVE OF REVOLUTIONARY CHANGE,"
opinion piece in June 11 left-of-center Marathi daily,
APLA MAHANAGAR: "Different types of people from
different walks of life have welcomed Obama's speech.
But among all of them the most vocal reaction is of the
Palestinian people's spokesman, Mohammad Abbas: Abbas
feels that Obama has sent the right message to Israel
through his speech."

Marathi daily, LOKMAT: "America has started efforts to
restart dialogue between Pakistan and India. The visit
of William Burns in Delhi is to have senior level talks
for the same purpose. India's Prime Minister has
clearly stated that if Pakistan shows courage and
resolve in preventing terrorist activities emanating
from its soil, only then can India enter into
discussion."
