1. (SBU) On May 4, Econ Counselor followed up with the Kenyan
Ministry of Finance regarding Kenya's vote on Kosovo membership of
the IMF and World Bank. Staff in the office of the Ministry of
Finance's Economic Secretary (third ranking in the Ministry)
confirmed that Kenya faxed in its "yes" vote for Kosovo membership
of the IMF on April 30. The ballot was signed by Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Finance Uhuru Kenyatta. Kenya has not yet
voted on Kosovo's World Bank membership. Embassy Nairobi will
continue to press for a positive vote by Kenya on Kosovo's World
Bank membership.
