On October 8, Post's Kenya U.S. Liaison Office (KUSLO) received
confirmation from Lieutenant Colonel J.W. Machasio, a senior staff
officer for logistics in the Kenyan Air Force (KAF),that reftel
spare parts were ordered to support maintenance requirements for
Kenya's F-5 aircraft. Machasio said, "Both F-5 & Buffalo spares
parts were ordered by KAF from commercial sources due to inadequate
funds from Foreign Military Sales cases (those for F-5)."
