Chief of American Affairs on October 25. Al Kathiry was
noncommittal regarding Omani positions on resolutions concerning
Iran, DPRK and Burma. Likewise, Al Kathiry did not commit to a
position on No-action Motions or the U.S.-sponsored Elections
Resolution. Regarding the OIC Defamation of Religion Resolution,
while not indicating what Oman's representatives to the Third
Committee will do, Al Kathiry suggested that instead of the annual
resolution in the Third Committee, a broad statement be made about
the defamation of religion in the General Assembly.
